This thread is to help plan, design, and show the layout of the Crystal Palace. Some facts that are needed are as follows.

1) Superstructure: This needs to meet a huge threshold of design criteria. This includes both man-made and natural conditions. Man-made basically means you could fly planes into it all day and the thing wouldn't go and would basically survive every weapon short of a nuke or particle cannon. Natural is Typhoons, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Volcanic Eruptions...pretty much everything short of an asteroid or airburst impact in the atmosphere. Below ground would be even more secure and only direct asteroid hit would destroy it.


2) Build placement: This is basically how the compound is laid out and where things are. One thing that could use some deciding is where the airfield in the palace is. Is it above or below ground?


3) Defenses: This is both Ground, Air, and Internal Defense and my thoughts were laser turrets but maybe Combined Arms Theory works here. This also can connect to the above as well as would include passive and active defenses. Also, is it the home to another Particle Cannon in order to make sure there are more in operation?

I have plenty of planes for defenses, but it'd take too long to ennumerate the moment. I don't think the superstructure could have planes fly into it all day long-- it'd be patrolled because of that danger. But it would need to be strong. THe other thing is that magic can be taken into account here. It would have gone into the construction so some of the 'hardening' could come from that.

Okay, that makes sense. So regular SAMs or Laser Batteries?

Also, what about EMP defense?
